{"id":4636,"date":"2021-06-15T16:37:30","date_gmt":"2021-06-15T20:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/?p=4636"},"modified":"2025-11-13T20:28:52","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T01:28:52","slug":"respiratory-care-program-receives-seventh-consecutive-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/respiratory-care-program-receives-seventh-consecutive-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Respiratory Care program receives seventh consecutive award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/spcollege.edu\/future-students\/degrees-training\/health-sciences-and-veterinary-technology\/respiratory-care\">Respiratory Care program<\/a><\/strong> for St. Petersburg College (SPC) was recently notified that it is \u201camong a select group of programs\u201d that will be recognized by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coarc.com\/\">Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)<\/a><\/strong>\u2014the program\u2019s accrediting body\u2014to receive the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the seventh consecutive year the program has received this award, the first one being in 2014, making SPC one of a small percentage of respiratory care educational programs in the nation to consistently meet these criteria.\u00a0The honor is based on the program\u2019s record of graduate success on the discipline\u2019s credentialing exam, student success, retention, on-time graduation rates, and graduate and employer satisfaction with the program. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Consistent Success<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SPC offers a very well-established and incredibly successful\u00a0Respiratory Care program and has consistently produced highly qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the program began at the college in 1971, SPC students have continually performed significantly higher than the national average on the board examination for licensure, and employment for graduates of the program seeking placement in the field has remained at nearly 100 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program uses the latest technology to teach students in the high-tech, high-demand field, and SPC\u2019s on-site simulation hospital helps students feel comfortable practicing skills in a controlled setting. SPC offers several different credentials within the program including a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/spcollege.edu\/future-students\/degrees-training\/health-sciences-and-veterinary-technology\/health-services-administration\/health-services-administration-bas-degree\">Health Services Administration B.A.S.
