{"id":425,"date":"2015-08-21T09:35:50","date_gmt":"2015-08-21T13:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health\/?p=425"},"modified":"2024-01-30T15:41:29","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T20:41:29","slug":"first-graduates-receive-op-masters-degrees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/first-graduates-receive-op-masters-degrees\/","title":{"rendered":"First graduates receive O&amp;P master\u2019s degrees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>O&amp;P Grads Brian Moran, Gabriel Henao, Stephanie Poling, Orializ Gonzales and Tony Ferraro awaiting to receive their master&#8217;s diplomas<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On August 8, 2015 the first 14 SPC graduates of the orthotics and prosthetics master\u2019s program received their specialized O&amp;P engineering degrees at a Florida State University graduation ceremony in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p>Our SPC graduates earned their Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, with a specialization in Engineering Management of Orthotics and Prosthetics. This is a joint program between SPC and FSU, which meets the new entry-level requirement for orthotists and prosthetists. The program is part of a consortium accredited by the <a title=\"Commission on Accreditation and Allied Health (CAAHEP)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.caahep.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commission on Accreditation and Allied Health (CAAHEP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Through the consortium, students first earn their Bachelor of Applied Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics at SPC&#8217;s $11 million J.E. Hanger College of Orthotics and Prosthetics. They then take their master&#8217;s courses directly from the Caruth Health Education Center via the J.E. Hanger College of Orthotics &amp; Prosthetics.
