So, roughly after my 19<sup>th<\/sup> birthday, I left USFSP and decided to become an Emergency Medical Technician,\u201d Tyler said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-nursing-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/03\/Community-of-Care-940x1024.png\" alt=\"Community of Care logo\" class=\"wp-image-4243\" width=\"205\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/03\/Community-of-Care-940x1024.png 940w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/03\/Community-of-Care-275x300.png 275w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/03\/Community-of-Care-768x837.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/03\/Community-of-Care.png 1085w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 205px) 100vw, 205px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Tyler graduated and began working as an EMT for Pinellas County\u2019s EMS service Sunstar. Seven months passed and Tyler began to feel the same feeling that initially pulled him to SPC \u2013 an urge to do more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This lead him to dedicated volunteering with the American Red Cross. He has logged more than 200 hours with the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI became a Disaster Action Team member, meaning during a\ndisaster I am part of the relief effort,\u201d he explained. \u201cMost of the time, I\nrespond out to house fires and get families set up with financial aid, a place\nto stay, and hygiene items.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For many, Tyler\u2019s arrival signals a sign of relief. His care is fueled by the two values that he carries with him: the value of professionalism and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tyler currently is enrolled in the Public Policy and Administration program at SPC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is my intention to lead the change, and I know that\nwherever my path takes me, it will be built upon the foundation of an
