Emergency calls can range from life-threatening issues to minor complaints. EMTs work in a wide variety of locations, including patients\u2019 homes, businesses, and even out on the street. As an EMT, you will care for patients at the scene of an accident and during transport to the hospital under the direction of other highly trained medical personnel.<\/p>\n<p>SPC provides training in the two levels of Emergency Medical Services certified by the State of Florida: Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic. EMT is the first level and allows practice at the basic life support level. By offering the EMT program at the Midtown campus, SPC made it convenient for me to complete my training close to home,&#8221; said\u00a02016 SPC EMT program graduate Carlton Green.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Career outlook for EMT graduates<\/h5>\n<p>Since 2006, 88% of Emergency Medical Technician\u00a0graduates have found jobs in the field, continued their education, or entered the military.<\/p>\n<p>You could be hired before you complete the program!<\/p>\n<p>There is a shortage both statewide and nationally for EMTs. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monster.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monster.com<\/a>, Florida is one of the top 10 States with the most EMT\/Paramedic job openings. Opportunities exist in EMS agencies, fire and police departments, hospitals, physician offices, and educational, correctional, veterans and military facilities.<\/p>\n<p>EMT program applications are being accepted now!
