{"id":330,"date":"2015-10-22T16:26:55","date_gmt":"2015-10-22T20:26:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/nursing\/?p=330"},"modified":"2024-01-30T15:42:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T20:42:04","slug":"nursing-international-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/nursing-international-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"International partnership with the Universidad El Bosque"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_333\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-333\" style=\"width: 196px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-333\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/nursing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2015\/10\/IMG_3258-196x196-custom.png\" alt=\"IMG_3258\" width=\"196\" height=\"196\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-333\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Rita Cecilia Plata de Silva from the Universidad El Bosque<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This month, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/hec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Petersburg College Health Education Center <\/a>hosted a reception for Dr. Rita Cecilia Plata de Silva from the Universidad El Bosque in Bogota, Colombia, as part of an initiative to develop an international partnership between the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/nursing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SPC College of Nursing<\/a> and the Universidad \u00a0El Bosque nursing program.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Dr. Susan Baker, SPC&#8217;s dean of the College of Nursing, and SPC nursing faculty Dr. Dorothy Nulty had <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/nursing\/spcs-college-nursing-crossing-borders-south-america\/?utm_term=Social\">the opportunity to travel to the\u00a0Universidad \u00a0El Bosque nursing program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tentatively set for Fall 2016, two nursing students from the SPC College of Nursing will have the opportunity to complete their community practicum in Bogota. In exchange, two Universidad El Bosque nursing students will\u00a0experience first-hand the state-of-the-art simulation training at SPC and additional clinical exposure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2015\/10\/IMG_3253.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-332 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/nursing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2015\/10\/IMG_3253-262x262-custom.png\" alt=\"IMG_3253\" width=\"262\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a>During her Oct. 21 visit, Plata de Silva, the dean of nursing at the Universidad El Bosque, had the opportunity to tour\u00a0the Health Education building. At the reception, faculty from SPC&#8217;s\u00a0nursing program interacted with the colleges&#8217; administration\u00a0and shared in\u00a0the excitement of a cooperative relationship that will provide students with\u00a0international field experience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/international\/?utm_term=Social\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International opportunities<\/a> are awaiting for you at SPC.
