Dr. Rita Cecilia Plata de Silva of the Universidad El Bosque and Dr. Susan Baker of the St. Petersburg College of Nursing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In September, Dr. Susan Baker<\/a> of the St. Petersburg College of Nursing<\/a> and BSN faculty member Dr. Dorothy Nulty<\/a> visited the Universidad El Bosque in Bogota, Colombia.<\/p>\n

The intent of their visit was to meet with Dr. Rita Cecilia Plata de Silva and\u00a0Universidad El Bosque \u00a0faculty members to discuss the development of a cooperative relationship between our nursing programs. During this visit, Baker and Nulty were taken to various community clinics that may serve as potential clinical sites for SPC’s BSN students during their community practicum experience.<\/p>\n

During the visit, groundwork and plans were laid for cooperative teaching and learning opportunities for our students and faculty.\u00a0 Tentative dates were set in Fall 2016 for two of our nursing students to have the opportunity to obtain their community practicum experience in Bogota. \u00a0Plans were also developed for two Universidad El Bosque nursing students to come to SPC to obtain additional clinical experiences and simulation training.<\/p>\n

The College of Nursing at SPC is\u00a0looking forward to a wonderful collegial relationship between our two teaching institutions and with our new friends at the Universidad El Bosque.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
