{"id":120,"date":"2015-09-16T13:00:32","date_gmt":"2015-09-16T17:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/vettech\/?p=120"},"modified":"2024-01-30T15:41:26","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T20:41:26","slug":"spc-celebrates-vet-tech-week-oct-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/spc-celebrates-vet-tech-week-oct-14\/","title":{"rendered":"SPC celebrates National Vet Tech Week at Open House event Oct. 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To help celebrate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avma.org\/Events\/pethealth\/Pages\/National-Veterinary-Technician-Week.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Vet Tech Week<\/a>, St. Petersburg College&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/vt\/\">School of Veterinary Technology<\/a> will host its fourth annual Open House from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the\u00a0Veterinary Technology Center, 12376 Ulmerton Road, Largo.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the public are invited to the event where they can tour the state-of-the-art facility, learn about programs and career options, meet faculty, staff and advisors, interact with Veterinary Technician activities, and visit vendor tables to learn about a variety of topics pertaining to pet ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the many hands-on activities will include the opportunity to examine blood samples under a microscope, administering CPR to your pets, internal examination of a cow and observe cat clicker training.
