Please <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/web.spcollege.edu\/survey\/22280\">RSVP online today.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The alternative teacher certification program at St. Petersburg College (SPC) is a state approved <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/EPI\/\">Educator Preparation Institute (EPI)<\/a>. The EPI is a three semester program that leads to Florida\u2019s Professional teaching certificate (the state\u2019s highest licensure).<\/p>\n<h2>EPI starts during summer term<\/h2>\n<p>SPC\u2019s EPI starts during the <strong>Summer\/May<\/strong> only. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/EPI\/#tab=3\"><strong>The EPI is an evening program<\/strong> with daytime teaching requirements during the second and third terms.\u00a0<\/a> All EPI courses are \u201cblended\u201d meaning the course content will be delivered both on campus and online.\u00a0 Although, coursework involves online components the EPI is not an online program.\u00a0 On campus class times may require one or two nights a week (Mon.-Thur.) beginning at 6 p.m. and ending between 8 and 9 p.m.\u00a0 Online instruction and modules may be completed at any computer and any time (24\/7) during the timeframes specified by the instructor.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the educational coursework, EPI students are placed in elementary, middle or secondary schools (based on certification area) for practical teaching experience. SPC\u2019s Office for School Partnerships (OSP) works with Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough Counties to secure teaching assignments for all SPC College of Education students. Students complete an application for school assignment.
