go Rothman and Early Childhood students!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\">Storybrook Village and 5K Run Benefits Early Childhood<\/h5>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4737\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4737\" style=\"width: 423px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/ELC2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4737\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/ELC2-300x286.jpg\" alt=\"COE student helping with Early Childhood Storybook Village and 5K event\" width=\"423\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/ELC2-300x286.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/ELC2.jpg 366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 423px) 100vw, 423px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4737\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">COE student helping with Early Childhood Storybook Village and 5K event<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition, on Saturday, April 14<sup>th<\/sup>, SPC participated in the annual 5K Run and Storybook Village.\u00a0 This was held in St Petersburg and coordinated by the <a href=\"http:\/\/elcpinellas.net\/readinessrun\/\">Pinellas Early Learning Coalition<\/a>.\u00a0 Storybook Village community childcare providers brought to life the fairy tales presented after the race.\u00a0 Boyd Hill Nature Preserve was a great place to host the over 200\u00a0 to partake in the day of community fun.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You could support early learning and literacy by participating in the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>enjoy reading activities<\/li>\n<li>games for all<\/li>\n<li>parent resources available<\/li>\n<li>entertainment activities and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4739\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4739\" style=\"width: 238px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Anne-Ryan-ELC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4739\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Anne-Ryan-ELC.jpg\" alt=\"Anne Ryan, Early Childhood at SPC\" width=\"238\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Anne-Ryan-ELC.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/education-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Anne-Ryan-ELC-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 238px) 100vw, 238px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4739\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anne Ryan, Early Childhood at SPC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>COE faculty and students helped children create personalized bookmarks.\u00a0 The bookmarks were to use in their favorite tales.\u00a0 Most importantly, all proceeds from the event went towards Coalition programs that serve the children of Pinellas County, our community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"http:\/\/go.spcollege.edu\/EducationalStudies_Preschool\/\">Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies and Community Leadership Preschool<\/a> Specialization gives you the knowledge and skills to work effectively with early learners (birth to age 4) and their families in both the public and private sectors.\u00a0 This is a<strong> fully online program except for classes that have school-based hours<\/strong>. If qualified, this program can be funded through the <a href=\"https:\/\/go.spcollege.edu\/COE_Partnerships\/\">TEACH Scholarship Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/go.spcollege.edu\/Early_Childhood_AS\/\">Early Childhood A.S. Degree<\/a> &#8211; As an early childhood professional, you play a vital role in the life of a child.
