True Success is Intrinsic. It&#8217;s Love. It&#8217;s Kindness. It&#8217;s Community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SPC\u00a0believes in nurturing the strengths of our students, faculty and partners.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/spcs-center-civic-learning-community-engagement\/\">The Center for Civic Learning and Community Engagement<\/a> continues to reach into the community and partner with individuals and organizations to build pathways to success with everyone we meet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_631\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-631\" style=\"width: 579px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/valentines-day-sharing-hearts\/florida-dream-center\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-631\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-631\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Florida-Dream-Center-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Valentine's Day Sharing Our Hearts - Florida Dream Center Martin Luther King Jr. Day underway SPC students\" width=\"579\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Florida-Dream-Center-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Florida-Dream-Center-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Florida-Dream-Center.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-631\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SPC students participate in the Florida Dream Center&#8217;s Martin Luther King Jr. Day projects.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The college\u00a0believes the best way to show our love for our community is by supporting our neighbors. \u00a0For example, SPC students work regularly, shoulder-to-shoulder, with our partners at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floridadreamcenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida Dream Center<\/a>, focusing on Adopt-A-Block efforts to clean and restore homes near <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/midtown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SPC Midtown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_742\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-742\" style=\"width: 435px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/valentines-day-sharing-hearts\/reycled-tunes-drum-clinic\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-742\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-742\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Reycled-Tunes-Drum-Clinic-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"435\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Reycled-Tunes-Drum-Clinic-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Reycled-Tunes-Drum-Clinic-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Reycled-Tunes-Drum-Clinic-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2017\/02\/Reycled-Tunes-Drum-Clinic.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 435px) 100vw, 435px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-742\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It&#8217;s all about lending extra hands and hearts to help others.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>SPC students also serve as\u00a0mentors at Pinellas County Schools, helping with literacy efforts, reading to students in Seminole, and continually contributing to \u00a0the educational ecosystem of our area. \u00a0SPC also hosts speakers and events that generate collaboration and unity.<\/p>\n<p>Other projects the SPC community has participated in include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exploring strategies for engagement in American society through <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/peacemaking-clearwater-campus\/\">a peacemaking event<\/a> at the Clearwater Campus<\/li>\n<li>Partnering with eSmart Recycling for <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/civic-engagement\/donating-gadgets-good\/\">Gadgets for Good<\/a>, a collection effort to gather donated gadgets to support children in the local community without access to technology<\/li>\n<li>Taking part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts-humanities-design-educational-information\/recycled-tunes-donation-drive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Recycled Tunes donation drive<\/a>, collecting musical instruments that are\u00a0refurbished and donated to Pinellas County Schools&#8217; music programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Valentine&#8217;s Day, the SPC family is committed to the success of our students and our community.
