Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and renew our promise to never forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This September marks a solemn milestone: a full quarter-century since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who lived through that Tuesday morning, the memories remain sharp\u2014the shock, the grief, and the profound uncertainty that followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, an entire generation has grown up with no personal memory of that day. One in three Americans is now under 25. For them, 9\/11 is history rather than lived experience. This makes our duty to preserve these stories even more vital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum <\/a>marks this milestone with its traditional reading of the names and moments of silence. This year introduces a historic addition: a seventh moment of silence honoring the thousands of first responders, recovery workers, and lower Manhattan residents who have died from 9\/11-related health illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizations nationwide\u2014like the Tunnel to Towers Foundation\u2014continue their mission through community service, educational outreach, and support for families of the fallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPC’s Center for Civic Leaning & Community Engagement also continues it annual tradition of honoring 9\/11 through campuswide moments of silence, flag planting ceremonies and poetry reading. Check out your campus calendar for dates and times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
