Get ready to VOTE on National Voter Registration Day! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Center for Civic Learning and Community Engagement (CCLCE) <\/strong>is excited to celebrate National Voter Registration Day as part of SPC VOTES, SPC’s collegewide initiative to increase voter education and voter registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, the SPC community has the opportunity to either register to vote or update their address before the October 4 deadline<\/strong> for the upcoming November 2 election day.

To increase voter engagement, the CCLCE and the St. Petersburg League of Women Voters (LWV) brought voter registration and voter education resources to all SPC campuses. The LWV’s is a 100 year old organization whose mission is simple:\u00a0Empowering voters. Defending Democracy.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Vote? <\/strong>

Increasing the number of people who vote in each election means better representation and a better quality of life. If we work together as a community and increase voter turnout, then our state and national legislators will listen to our needs.

Education, healthcare, immigration, infrastructure, the economy, our veterans, etc. are all affected by our vote.
