EmpowHER: Advancing Women in Leadership<\/em><\/a> is brought to you by the Career Services team.  Join us Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 11am-12:30pm for an engaging conversation with a set of dynamic women and men leaders in local organizations.  Hear from panelists about how they were supported by men and women, or how they supported women in their quest to climb the ladder into a leadership role, as well as tips to succeed on your career path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Seixas<\/strong> is Duke Energy’s state president in Florida.  For 34-years her leadership responsibilities increased as she has held several roles in the company including Vice President of government and community relations in Florida.  Seixas supports her community by serving on many boards for business and nonprofit organizations. For more information, visit the Duke Energy website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his role as Community Engagement Advocate \u2013 Manager for Center for Health Equity, Marcus A. Brooks<\/strong> works with multiple sectors of the community to gather input for shaping the programming and overall culture of the Center for Health Equity. He advances the race equity mission by building neighborhood, city, and corporate relations and challenging groups to think of the work they do from a race equity lens. He has worked on a wide range of issues related to health equity including work to minimize disproportionate minority contact with the juvenile justice system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephanie Dushane<\/strong> is the Senior Program Director at the YMCA of Greater St Petersburg Bardmoor.  She began at the YMCA teaching classes, offering personal training and running a cancer survivor class. Since then, she has worked her way up in the YMCA organization and plays a key role in the development of Membership and Fitness initiatives. Her most recent award through the YMCA Professional Network was the \u201cDeveloping Others Award\u201d.  She loves that through her work at the Y she is empowering people to improve their health and well-being by inspiring action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roslynn (Roz) Tarver<\/strong> is the owner of Glamm Catering.  She also serves as a Financial Aid Counselor at St. Petersburg College\u2019s Midtown Campus.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
