SPC students now have the opportunity to earn credentials.&nbsp; These will help you stand out from other applicants.&nbsp; It will show employers that you have the skills and initiative the employer is looking for.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floridareadytowork.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Florida Ready to Work (opens in a new tab)\">Florida Ready to Work<\/a> is an innovative, new workforce education and economic development program.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The centerpiece of the program is the Florida Ready to Work credential.\u00a0 This is a career readiness certificate that confirms a student has the fundamental job skills necessary to succeed in today\u2019s rapidly changing and competitive economy. The program is funded by the state and is <strong>free<\/strong> to students. The coursework is online and can be completed whenever you have the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"791\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/careers-internships\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/05\/JobseekerFlyer-1024x791.png\" alt=\"Jobseeker Flyer\" class=\"wp-image-8914\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/careers-internships\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/05\/JobseekerFlyer-1024x791.png 1024w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/careers-internships\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/05\/JobseekerFlyer-300x232.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/careers-internships\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/05\/JobseekerFlyer-768x593.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/careers-internships\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/05\/JobseekerFlyer.png 1650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The program has several benefits for both students and\nemployers:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Provides&nbsp;<em>students <\/em>with a standard credential that certifies their workplace readiness and ability to succeed on the job. <\/li><li>Saves&nbsp;<em>employers<\/em> time and money by taking the guesswork out of the hiring process. <\/li><li>Helps prepare today\u2019s students for tomorrow\u2019s jobs. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Florida Ready To Work credential is a personalized certificate, signed by Governor Ron DeSantis, that shows a student is ready to work.&nbsp; There are three <strong>academic credential<\/strong> levels \u2013&nbsp; <em>bronze, silver and gold<\/em>. In addition to the online coursework, a student must take three proctored Assessments- <strong>Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Locating Information<\/strong>. These three Assessments were selected because:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>research shows that these three fundamental skills are necessary for more than 85 percent of all jobs today<\/li><li>these core skills are the basis for most other career readiness programs across the country, providing value wherever a student may move in the future.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The credential levels are awarded based on a student\u2019s score\non the final assessments. These assessments are currently offered at no charge\non the Clearwater and Allstate Campuses. To receive the credential, a score of\n\u201c3\u201d or higher is required on each assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Florida Ready to Work program also offers a <strong>Soft Skills<\/strong> <strong>credential<\/strong>. Documenting these skills provides a huge leg up in the hiring process.
