Four\u00a0St. Petersburg College Digital Arts students, winners of the Digital Arts program\u2019s SEmmy award, have been accepted into\u00a0prestigious programs with Florida State University, Ringling College of Art and Design and the University of Florida.<\/p>\n

The distinguished programs the four will be transferring to are highly competitive with\u00a0selective admissions. All\u00a0have graduates now working\u00a0in some of the most recognized companies in the world.<\/p>\n

Maddie Stubbs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Graphic design student Maddie Stubbs will be graduating from SPC in Summer 2016 and has been accepted into UF\u2019s exclusive bachelor of fine arts graphic design program. The program’s graduates have done work for companies like Microsoft, Facebook and Macy\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Stubbs thanks the Career Center and SPC\u2019s academic advisors for helping her get ready for the next step in her journey.<\/p>\n

David Quintana<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Quintana, a game design student, credits the help of Career and Academic Advisor Sally McCartney and Career and Technical Education Outreach Specialist Sandy DeCarlo with helping him pursue his dream. He has been accepted into the Ringling College of Art and Design\u2019s game art program.<\/p>\n

Quintana had strong drawing skills but had never used digital tools like Adobe Creative Cloud to create art. He\u00a0said that\u00a0SPC gave\u00a0him a chance to learn these tools hands on, providing\u00a0him a broader skill set as an artist.<\/p>\n

Anna Marie Mazza<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anna Marie Mazza was accepted into the Ringling College of Art and Design. \u201cFrom the moment I toured the campus I knew it was my school, and I wasn\u2019t going to let anything stop me from going there. SPC helped me get into this school by showing me some important techniques in editing and camera work,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mazza\u00a0credits the college with helping her find a strong production crew to assist in building her portfolio and providing a\u00a0career\u00a0advisor who helped her from the start of her program until graduation. Clio Perkins<\/strong><\/p>\n

Film student Clio Perkins began her studies at SPC in the early college program during her senior year of high school. She will be transferring to Florida State University in the fall.<\/p>\n

Upon enrolling at SPC, she was thrilled to find a community that shared her love of art and film. She dreams of showing a film at the Sunscreen Film Festival. “Everyone needs a stepping stone, and SPC was mine,” said Clio.<\/p>\n

Digital Arts at SPC<\/strong><\/p>\n

All four\u00a0students ended up in very different programs, but they started in the same place.
