{"id":2235,"date":"2014-05-28T15:27:21","date_gmt":"2014-05-28T15:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/internships\/?p=2235"},"modified":"2024-01-30T14:01:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T19:01:04","slug":"thank-you-spc-faculties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/careers-internships\/thank-you-spc-faculties\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank You SPC Faculty Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/internship\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/spc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2236\" style=\"width: 174px;height: 159px\" alt=\"spc\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/internship\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/spc-300x287.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"287\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">In spring 2014, 37 faculty members\u00a0were recognized on their home campuses for their work with student interns.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Internship courses are different from other classes taught by faculty.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Faculty members frequently go above and beyond when teaching an internship course.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Internships require time and flexibility to work with students who are in a workforce environment.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">They also connect faculty members\u00a0to industry through face to face and virtual site visits.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Faculty members\u00a0review student learning objectives to ensure that the intern\u2019s field work is a direct reflection of the courses taught in their program. Students are required to submit observations, journals and final projects to evidence their workforce experiences.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Sometimes students need a mentor outside the internship and faculty members\u00a0become a sounding board for students as they navigate the workforce utilizing the skills and knowledge they acquired in the classroom.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Watching students put theory into motion is rewarding.
