“Computer repair technicians earn a median salary of $48,620 per year. Salaries typically start from $28,990 and go up to $81,260,” according to the career matching platform Sokanu.
And St. Petersburg College has a FREE program for African-American males ages 18 – 24 that will allow students to get prepared to earn a computer repair certification in one summer.
The college has partnered with the City of St. Petersburg’s Cohort of Champions to design the PITCH Program, which stands for Persistence Incorporated inTo College, Hired. It’s goal is to deliver high-quality educational, career, and character-development training for African-American males in St. Petersburg. SPC will provide future leaders the opportunity to further their education by acquiring an industry-wide certification or college degree in a supportive environment.
SPC’s PITCH Program offers FREE tuition and books, college credit, career opportunities, interactive workshops, and focused end-of-the-course test prep. Upon acceptance in PITCH’s Summer Program, students can specialize in CompTIA A+ Certification (computer repair).
