SPC volunteers <\/strong>representing the Tau Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) on the Clearwater Campus, volunteered their time Saturday, Sept. 17, to give a face lift to the student \u201cPaw Print\u201d path at Belleair Elementary School in Clearwater.<\/p>\n

\"SPC<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis a project that has simply been neglected due to available resources,\u201d said Courtney Kent, a student in SPC\u2019s College of Business Baccalaureate Program, who has had this idea for months. He approached the president of the PTK Tau Zeta Chapter at Clearwater, Jill Armstrong, and together they set a date and time and rounded up fellow Tau Zeta members to make it happen.<\/p>\n

SPC volunteers paint 100 paw prints<\/h2>\n

They refurbished and painted 100 paw prints that run the perimeter of the Elementary Campus. The difference was stunning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe teachers and students will be so surprised and inspired when they return to class on Monday,” stated Principal Griffin.<\/p>\n

Courtney is a mentor and one of the SPC volunteers at Belleair Elementary. He would like to see all children have the opportunity to learn and grow from others. He is the 2016 Apollo Award Recipient and has received multiple awards and praise for his dedication and work with children and families. Courtney is an alum with the PTK Tau Zeta Chapter and hopes to encourage all honor students to participate in projects that make a difference in our community.<\/p>\n
