I would like to thank Vivian Clinton, Department of Veterans Affairs for inviting me to speak at the Million Women Mentors Program.\u00a0 I spoke to the group about Human Capital Worth and Scientific Management<\/em>, focusing on understanding business management.<\/p>\n

Million Women Mentors is a national movement that supports women and girls to pursue and succeed in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and health care careers through mentoring. As a mentor in the program, I join others in working to provide one million STEM mentors by 2019 to girls and women across the nation.<\/p>\n

Million Women Mentors aims to increase the number of girls and women planning to pursue an education in STEM. They also want to increase the number of girls and women who obtain bachelor\u2019s degrees in STEM, as well as increase retention of women within STEM fields post-graduation.<\/p>\n

Hillsborough County Public Schools has registered 100 schools that need a minimum of one mentor per site who is willing to meet regularly with up to five selected female students in grades 5-12 throughout the 2015-16 school year. The program requires 20 hours of mentorship for each student and\/or group.\u00a0 This equates to approximately two hours per month.\u00a0 Vivian Clinton and top leaders are committed to this effort, which will promote, educate, and inform a stream of potential employees to consider STEM health care occupations in the future.<\/p>\n

\"Dr.Dr. Jenice Armstead is a professor and academic department chair for SPC’s College of Business<\/a>. She is also a military veteran, author and motivational speaker with more than 15 years of experience in the public and private sector.\u00a0 Her expertise covers human resources, business management, the federal hiring process and government hiring policy.\u00a0 She has an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from Saint Leo University and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Jones International University.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
