Victoria Yore and Nicole Calle-Schuler, two St. Petersburg College Business students, won first place in the final leg of The Business Strategy Game (BSG)<\/a>, an international competition where students create a company and compete with other colleges and universities in a simulated global marketplace.<\/p>\n

Part of the student\u2019s final capstone project at SPC, the online assignment\/competition teaches students the business and leadership skills of running a multimillion-dollar company. Two other SPC teams came in second and sixth in the international business competition.<\/p>\n

BSG is a \u201ccompetition-based\u201d strategy simulation exercise where the outcomes are always unique to the competitive interplay among the specific decisions and strategies of each competing company group.<\/p>\n

Hosted and administered by the BSG author team, the BSI is held over two weeks each May, August, and December. Any student team who finishes first in the BSG simulation exercise conducted at their school, college, or university receives an invitation to participate in the BSI.<\/p>\n

Each year, students in\u00a0St. Petersburg College\u2019s Business<\/a>\u00a0Administration and Management and Organizational Leadership bachelor\u2019s programs participate in The Business Strategy Game as part of their MAN 4900 Strategic Capstone Project.<\/p>\n

Simulating Business Operations<\/h4>\n

In this simulation, teams are tasked to operate an athletic footwear company, where they must assess market conditions, determine how to respond to the actions of competitors, forge a long-term direction and strategy for their company, forecast upcoming sales volumes, and make many other decisions critical to the success and operations of their company.<\/p>\n

Those who win their class industry competition are invited to the Business-Strategy Invitational world competition.<\/p>\n
