This fall, St Petersburg College and the College of Business will be offering a unique International Experience opportunity for its students: A new three-credit elective class that will allow SPC students to interact with fellow Jordanian and Iraqi peers<\/a> through a virtual study abroad experience. Participating students will work together to find ways to develop Global Sustainability solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This amazing opportunity comes after SPC Business Professors Dr. Andy Rojas and Dr. Lynn Grinnel were awarded a grant by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX). This project is part of the Stevens Initiative, and is funded by the U.S. Department of State, managed by the Aspen Institute, and implemented by IREX<\/a>. SPC and the College of Business were chosen to provide a unique international experience for our students and be proof that it is possible to collaborate across borders to achieve meaningful solutions to common problems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three-credit course, which will be taught by Rojas and Grinnel, will fulfill one of the electives in the Sustainability Management BAS, Management & Organizational Leadership BAS, or Business Administration BS programs. It begins on October 5 and finishes just before Thanksgiving. This is a unique opportunity for students to be part of a multinational collaboration to create sustainable solutions while earning college credit. It’s definitely a great resume builder! This is a global competition among dozens of bi-national teams. At the end of the course, the teams will pitch their solutions on December 16-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For SPC, it is an honor to have been chosen to lead this amazing project and to continue providing international experience to our students, something for which we work very hard and take very seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
