SPC has developed a partnership with the Clearwater Jazz Holiday over the last few years. This year, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday is in its 40th year!
This four-day, multi-genre music festival is presented in Clearwater’s Coachman Park during the third week of October each year. This year, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday will be held October 17-20. This event serves over 38,000 concert-goers, features over 17 performing acts, with the focus on creating a memorable experiences for attendees, while also holding strong, year-round, educational outreach within our local community.
Seeing the motivation our students have and the dedication they are making to learn and be the best they can be, the Jazz Holiday education board has agreed to fund two $750 scholarships for two deserving students in the areas of Music Industry/Recording Arts and Music Business related studies for the spring, 2020 semester. The scholarships will be awarded at the Young Lions educational program in December.
Additionally, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday is still in need of general volunteers! If you would like to volunteer, please complete this link: https://web.spcollege.edu/survey/26372.
In working closely with the Jazz Holiday executive board and their educational outreach program over the last five years, SPC has secured volunteer positions for our students and potential internships in business administration, live performance production, social media marketing, hospitality and more. Students in these positions have been highly praised for their commitment to job quality. As a result, several students have been offered and accepted employment in their field of interest.
Please note that volunteers are able to stay in the park (that same day) after their shift to enjoy the music festival! For additional questions regarding general volunteer opportunities, please reach out to Clearwater Jazz Holiday Volunteers team at email@example.com.
