St. Petersburg College Digital Arts student Stephanie Buss completed an internship for drawing during the spring semester.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was originally tentative to attend SPC,\u201d Buss said. \u201cBut I found that the staff and professors are very dedicated to their students, making sure they learn and succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stephanie Buss has her own style. Her favorite SPC Professor Ragan Brown has helped her realize her potential.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Buss spent the semester working for Individuality LTD. She was responsible for\u00a0illustrating adult-themed coloring books. Such coloring books have reached the top seller list on Amazon according to The Guardian<\/a><\/em>. As an artist\u00a0working within this expanding field, it has benefited Buss greatly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had interactions with another intern who helped me,\u201d she said. \u201cHe took my illustrations and put the books together. He has done some really great work with them!\u201d<\/p>\n

Buss had earlier withdrawn from UCF. Questioning going back to\u00a0college, she found her answer in SPC\u2019s Digital Arts program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere wasn\u2019t an option for me to get an illustration degree at the time I was looking into colleges, and I figured Digital Arts at SPC was a good start,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

SPC\u2019s Internship program<\/a> provides a variety of opportunities that encompass an array\u00a0of degrees. From Digital Arts to Computer Science, SPC\u2019s career specialists work for students to help create an outstanding resume as well as put together a striking portfolio. On top of this assistance, Buss also received a helping hand from SPC\u2019s Digital Arts faculty during her internship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was never really sure about my ability or if my art was good enough,” she said. \u201cProfessor Brown has really helped me believe in what I can do as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s insights, critiques and opinions helped Buss strengthen her professional portfolio.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has also helped me learn as a student and as a person,\u201d Buss said.<\/p>\n

Buss graduated with her associate degree\u00a0in Spring 2016. She plans to take a break from school\u00a0and later\u00a0continue her art career at the Academy of Art where she’ll pursue an\u00a0illustration degree. SPC will always be an important\u00a0step for Buss.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s worth it as long as you are sure you know what you want to do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
