{"id":8464,"date":"2015-10-26T10:28:15","date_gmt":"2015-10-26T14:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts\/?p=8464"},"modified":"2024-01-30T13:16:35","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T18:16:35","slug":"little-shop-of-horrors-auditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts-humanities-design-educational-information\/little-shop-of-horrors-auditions\/","title":{"rendered":"LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Auditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/10\/lil-shop-icon.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8465\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/10\/lil-shop-icon.jpg\" alt=\"lil-shop-icon\" width=\"170\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The SPC Theater Department will be holding auditions for the musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS on Tuesday, December 1 from 4:30-7:30 pm in the Arts Auditorium on the Clearwater Campus. \u00a0Callbacks will be Wednesday, December 2 from 4:30-7:30 pm. \u00a0 The production will perform for 6 performances April 6-10, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone interested in auditioning must prepare one of the following songs:<\/p>\n<p>Men:\u00a0\u00a0 (16 bars of one of the following)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Grow For Me<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Feed Me<\/strong>&#8212; Seymour\u2019s \u201cI don\u2019t know\u2026.\u201d Section<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dentist<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Women:\u00a0 (16 bars from one of the following&#8212;Anyone auditioning for Audrey must sing from both)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Suddenly Seymour<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Somewhere That\u2019s Green<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is about\u00a0Seymour who works at a flower shop, attending a plant who he has named Audrey II (after the love of his life, Audrey). However, his plant is no normal plant and it needs a special food to grow. \u00a0Roles available are listed below. \u00a0For more information about auditioning please contact Scott Cooper at cooper.scott@spcollege.edu. \u00a0 The rehearsal schedule will be posted next to the costume shop door \u00a0(SS 103) by November 15 and be available at the auditions.<\/p>\n<p>We are also looking for theater technicians (spot light operators, sound and light board operators and backstage hands) for this production.<\/p>\n<p>Roles Available:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seymour Krelborn<\/strong>&#8212;- An insecure, put-upon florist&#8217;s clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Male, 20-30 yrs old \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Vocal Range: Tenor<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audrey<\/strong>&#8212; Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour&#8217;s life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Female, 20-35 yrs old \u00a0 \u00a0Vocal\u00a0Range: Soprano with Belt<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Mushnik<\/strong>&#8212; The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour&#8217;s nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Male, 55-65 yrs old \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Vocal\u00a0Range: Tenor 2\u00a0(will be possibly double cast with Scott Cooper)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Orin Scrivello<\/strong> &#8212;An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey&#8217;s abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour.\u00a0\u00a0Male, 30-40 yrs old \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Vocal\u00a0Range: Baritone with some high notes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voice Of The Plant<\/strong>&#8212; An actor\/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart &#8216;villain.&#8217; A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Female, 20-25 yrs old \u00a0Vocal\u00a0Range: Alto with belt. (will be possibly double cast with Scott Cooper)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon<\/strong> (x2)are street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus.
