{"id":44,"date":"2013-10-17T16:40:56","date_gmt":"2013-10-17T16:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts\/?p=44"},"modified":"2024-01-30T13:12:20","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T18:12:20","slug":"mira-digital-arts-students-get-up-close-view-of-a-tv-news-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/arts-humanities-design-educational-information\/mira-digital-arts-students-get-up-close-view-of-a-tv-news-operation\/","title":{"rendered":"MIRA, Digital Arts students get up-close view of a TV news operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Oct. 11, students from St. Petersburg College\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/mira\/\">MIRA (Music Industry\/Recording Arts) program<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/digitalarts\/\">Digital Arts program<\/a> experienced an educational tour of ABC Studios in Tampa.<\/p>\n<p>This was\u00a0 an excellent opportunity for MIRA\/Digital Arts students to network with local businesses to further their career goals while witnessing live and pre-produced television content first-hand.<\/p>\n<p>MIRA student Scott Klimczak said, \u201cMy tour at ABC studios was very exciting and informational. The ABC staff was very easy to understand and professional. I learned a lot of how a television newscast is produced and managed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The students had a behind-the-scenes tour guided by ABC&#8217;s John Fulton, who gave them a look at all aspects of the studio, from pre-production and editing to the live broadcast of the 5 p.m. news.<\/p>\n<p>The students were able to see what a career in live television production would be like. Many of them asked insightful questions regarding the equipment and programs that ABC news uses, and a few questions of what it is like to build a career in the industry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/blueandwhite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/ABC-tour.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-16466\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/blueandwhite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/ABC-tour-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"ABC tour\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Oct. 11, students from St. Petersburg College\u2019s MIRA (Music Industry\/Recording Arts) program and the Digital Arts program experienced an educational tour of ABC Studios in Tampa.
