David Tagliarini<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

St. Petersburg College (SPC) welcomes David Tagliarini as Adjunct Professor of Flute in the Music Department within Humanities and Fine Arts. <\/p>\n\n\n

\"David<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Tagliarini brings a career’s worth of expertise and connections to share with the students of St. Petersburg College. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Tampa native, Professor Tagliarini\u00a0holds a BM from the University of Florida in Music Performance, and a MM degree from Indiana University in multiple woodwinds. Hei has toured the United States, Canada, Germany, and Austria performing in the pit orchestras for Broadway tours such as “My One and Only”, “Jekyll and Hyde”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and “Evita”. He has performed in New York, on Broadway, in the orchestra pits for “The Music Man”, “Jekyll and Hyde”, and “The Immigrant”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He performs regularly with the St. Petersburg Opera\u00a0orchestra and\u00a0has performed for\u00a0over\u00a030 years at the\u00a0Straz\u00a0Performing Arts\u00a0Center\u00a0in Tampa, and the Bob\u00a0Carr\u00a0and Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Centers\u00a0in pit orchestras for\u00a0nearly 200 Broadway National tours, most recently including, “The Book of Mormon”, “The Phantom of the Opera”,\u00a0“Wicked”, and \u201cAladdin\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Tag\u201d has taught band, orchestra, and chorus in Pinellas County schools for\u00a0over 30 years and\u00a0just recently retired from being\u00a0the Performing Arts Staff Developer for Pinellas County, providing professional development and support for performing arts teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Music at SPC<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Music AA Transfer <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPC\u2019s Music and Music Education AA Transfer degrees (60 credits) are two-year programs that prepare students for transfer to University music programs in Performance, Music Education (Band, Chorus, Orchestra, General Music), and Music Therapy. Students earn Music State Common Perquisite credits in music lessons, music ensembles, music\/aural theory, and student recital. Students also earn all 36 general education liberal arts credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music Industry Recording Arts (MIRA) AS Degree <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPC\u2019s Music Industry Recording Arts (MIRA) AS degree (64 credits) is a two-year workforce program with technology focus. It prepares students to work as producers, audio engineers, composers\/songwriters in the music industry. The core curriculum includes courses in digital audio workstations, live sound engineering, studio recording techniques, critical listening, legal issues in music, practical music business, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audio Engineering and Production (AUDIOPE) Certificate<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPC\u2019s Audio Engineering and Production (AUDIOPE) Certificate (24 credits) is a financial aid eligible certificate that includes instruction in digital audio workstations, studio recording techniques, acoustics, live sound and professional audio production.  The stand-alone certificate prepares workforce internships and employment. The 24 credits also count towards the MIRA-AS degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a non-profit organization serving our community, charitable contributions are vital to our mission to educating students and engaging our community.  Your support makes performances, art shows, and concerts possible and provides invaluable experiences for our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
