St. Petersburg College is excited to offer A Beautiful Evening with Spencer Meyer. Meyer will play Beethoven’s Sonata Op 110, Jan\u00e1\u010dek’s In the Mists and Chopin’s Complete Ballades on March 20, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. at the SPC Music Center, 6605 Fifth Ave. North, St Pete 33710.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lauded by the Boston Globe for \u201csuperb playing\u201d and \u201cpoised, alert musicianship\u201d and labeled \u201cdefinitely a man to watch\u201d by London\u2019s The Independent after his 2012 Wigmore Hall recital debut, American pianist Spencer Myer is one of the most respected and sought-after artists on today\u2019s concert stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myers’ career was launched with three important prizes: First Prize in the 2004 UNISA International Piano Competition in South Africa, the 2006 Christel DeHaan Classical Fellowship from the American Pianists Association and the Gold Medal from the 2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has been soloist with The Cleveland Orchestra, the Cape Town and Johannesburg Philharmonics, the Indianapolis, New Haven and Phoenix Symphony Orchestras and Beijing\u2019s China National Symphony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory, The Juilliard School and Stony Brook University, he is currently a member of the Piano and Collaborative Piano faculty at Boston\u2019s Longy School of Music of Bard College.
